In 2024, our relatively new company, Raven Crow Entertainment LLC, secured only two official film projects—far from enough to sustain our business. Recognizing the need to strengthen our marketing and business development skills, I began searching for educational opportunities and enrolled in online classes through Arrowhead Center.
During one of these classes, I learned about the New Mexico APEX Accelerator and its mission to help New Mexico companies pursue government contracting opportunities. Intrigued, I immediately visited the NM APEX Accelerator website and scheduled an appointment to learn more.
My initial APEX advisor guided us through the critical first steps to become government-ready, including registering our company in SAM.gov. Motivated to continue learning, I took advantage of additional NM APEX workshops and events to better understand government marketing and research strategies.
Throughout this journey, I received outstanding guidance from my NM APEX advisor, Elythia McAnarney, whose support was instrumental in helping us navigate government contracting, marketing, and research processes.
Just one year later, Raven Crow Entertainment LLC grew from two projects to more than 50 in the past year alone. In addition to this growth, our company was recently honored with two prestigious awards at the Shorty Impact Awards in Los Angeles for our work on Unstained, a federally funded mini-series focused on supporting New Mexico at-risk youth.
Thanks to the education, resources, and one-on-one support provided by the NM APEX Accelerator, our company has not only survived but truly taken off—allowing us to hire approximately 30 individuals across multiple projects while renting and purchasing from local vendors, helping drive economic growth in New Mexico.
